We just had the best weekend. I wish weekends were longer. Fortunately that wish comes true next week as it is the first of two long weekends in May.
Yesterday it was a scorching 23 degrees. It was bloody hot! It felt so strange going outside without a jacket on - not even a jumper! We were outside in t-shirts and it felt really, really strange. But good. It made me realise I don't own any warm weather clothes or footwear.
I did a spot of shopping and managed to find havaiana thongs (though can't call them that over here - they are flip flops - a thong is a g string) so I was well pleased.
Saturday night was spent at HB's farewell party where everyone was suitably slaughtered and had a fantastic time. Though still maintained some kind of dignity, unlike the Australian wankers on the tube dressed up as netballers and dingoes today. They heard us talking and realised we were also Australian.
'Oh yeah, these guys are Aussies too! Where ya from?'
We didn't have to ask where they were from. We could tell based on the football songs they were chanting at the top of their lungs ('Freo way to go' and 'Cheer cheer the red and the white' if you were interested). Hmmm, you wonder why Australians are being called 'the new Americans' when travelling?
We saw these clowns on the way back from Camden market, with HB and a mate. Camden market was excellent and definitely a place to put on the list when visitors come over. I also found the same bloody thongs I bought yesterday for five quid cheaper at the market. Spewing! (who's the bogan Aussie now?)
