Transport v2

In our new house, we don't have a local tube stop. We have buses or we have the overground train. We can catch either to get to the tube if we wish.

Although, to get to work, NB will take an overground train which takes 15 minutes. I take another, which also takes 15 minutes. Though unfortunately, I will now catch a train which does not have a first class carriage, so I will have to sit in cattle class. Boo.

At least by avoiding the tube to work, I can avoid the journey I had the other day.

I get to the tube stop and board the train that is sitting there. This is unusual. Trains shouldn't just be sitting there. I can't understand the person over the PA. This isn't unusual. Eventually I realise there is a signal fault further up the line and we are being recommended to take a bus. I get off and fortunately make it to the first bus.

The bus takes me to the overground station where I catch my connecting train. I have missed my normal train by this stage, so I catch the next train, which will take me to another station where I can catch the right train to work. I see a girl with the most gorgeous afro and beautiful blue high heels. Sometimes when I see people like that I am tempted to tell them that I love their shoes/jacket/hair etc. But I don't. She'd think I was strange. As would anyone, I suppose.

I move away from the guy who is trying to attack pidgeons with his umbrella. When NB pretends to do this, it is funny. When randoms do it when they are by themselves, it's just weird.

I get onto the most packed train I have ever been on. I have never been spooned by so many people in my life. This didn't seem to phase the pimply youth pressed against my side, who deliberately got his iPod out and changed tracks every 5 seconds because he knew when he did this, he got the opportunity to touch my boob with his elbow each time.

In the meantime, I just had to think of a happy place while I was in a people sandwich between a guy the size of John Candy and the girl with the gorgeous afro and shoes.
