On the move

We have been up and down and all over the shop this week.

NB viewed and applied for a property on our behalf, at the bewilderment of many of my colleagues. So, all I can tell you is that we applied for a 2 bedroom place with a blue door (yes, just like that door in that movie*)

We found out yesterday that our application had been rejected by a third party application checking company. Hence my update yesterday on there being no news to report. However, the estate agent thought we were rejected due to an administrative error and suggested we could provide extra information to back up our application (not more money! just more quite unnecessary paperwork).

Turns out the extra information saved the day. So, we are all set for a big move on the 3rd of May. Cannot wait. I can't wait to have a decent night's sleep. Which neither of us have had in the 6 months we have lived where we are now.

When we made the appointment to initially view the property, the agent never turned up. This was the second time this had happened (different agents) and Murphy's Law, we were standing in the rain again. Last time I didn't follow it up. This time was different. I phoned to ask why we were being made to stand in the rain for 25 minutes. The agent apologised profusely and explained he hadn't been given the details of our appointment. We re-booked another appointment. As a consolation, he said that if we applied for the property, no agency fees would be applied. Score!

In other news, we have booked our flights to Oz in November.

When it makes its way to a cinema near you, go and see 'Son of Rambow'. We saw it today and loved it. A really lovely film.

* Out of interest, the house with the blue door used in the movie was sold the year following the release of the movie. The original blue door was removed and auctioned. The replacement door was painted black so that nobody would recognise it. Soon however, someone spray painted on the wall next to the door 'this is the Hollywood door'.
