Little Britain
Awesome live show, first one in Melbourne at Vodafone Arena. These boys are comedic genius! Disgusting, grotesque, obscene and all of the above. We love it! Watched the live DVD the next day. Just as good. Bought Vicky Pollard and Emily Howard t-shirts, can't wait to wear them.

Can't shut up
So excited about the move, I tell the dentist and his receptionist at my appointment this morning. We have to work out a "dental plan" to have everything in good shape before we go. It's all good. Made a final appointment for before we go. Even better, the dentist gave me $50 off my bill without saying anything. I went to pay and the receptionist said "he must be in a good mood today, he gave you a $50 discount". Alright!

A load off our minds...
We feel bad when people ask us how the house hunting is going. Although we are still looking out of genuine interest, it's not our primary focus. nb's Old Man is now on the mend, no more IV line, which is fantastic, though he still looks pretty unwell. Though 100 times better than he has in earlier weeks. Our thoughts have been with his mum & dad all this time. It has been tough on a number of levels. So over the course of the last few days we have told family when they have gotten in touch with us. If people haven't gotten in touch we kind of haven't bothered, the news will spread through the grapevine well enough we're sure. Our families are excited about it, though a handful seem pretty upset about it. A response of ignoring it and maybe it might go away has been the option for a few, which makes us sad, but we completely understand. Although we are excited, nervous, shitting ourselves and all the stuff that goes along with that, we are sad too. Though I guess you've gotta be selfish sometimes and do what you want. Though we've been given a condition - "no pommie kids! I don't want nieces and nephews with english accents!!". We'll see - we aren't discounting anything at this stage. Who knows what will happen? We might love it and want to apply for permanent residency at the end or we might hate it. We are giving ourselves 2 years at the minimum. If we want to come home after the 2 years, we will. That's the only rule we have set for ourselves, which is so unlike us. We are first borns man! We are rigid and like structure - what are we doing????

the gippsland expedition
Happy Birthday Susan, Joshua, ng's Old Man, Anthony, Amanda & Adam - welcome to January for our family. We make the trek down to Gippsland two weekends in a row to celebrate the birthdays. Bloody exhausting, but good to see everyone. A little bit sad as we will miss these birthdays for the next few years. Though we will experience them many miles away - thankfully not in the scorching Australian January sun!! Remind me of this post when it's January 08 and it's minus 8 degrees or something crazy. I don't care, I love the cold weather and the fashion is so much better in winter anyway. Talking about fashion, a big happy birthday for Phuc, the funkiest girl I know.

happy new year
This is gonna be a big year for us, that's for sure. We've decided to make the big move to the UK. We have wanted to do this for so long but it was always kind of on the back burner. Other things just seemed to take priority. So, nerd boy and nerd girl were sitting back on NYE 06 and evaluating where we've been and where we are at. Best conversation ever. Not to be confused with "The Best Wedding Ever"TM or "The Best Honeymoon Ever"TM. We sat back and said hey, no roadblocks, no constraints, no nothing. If you could do anything you wanted - money isn't even a factor - what would it be? nb said "Go overseas - without a doubt". We both agreed we'd been down since coming back in September. We were still happy, but there was just this niggling...something. We had been looking at houses to buy for months and looking at craphole after craphole it is doing our heads in.
So, the outcome is to keep quiet about it and do some research. As nb's dad is sick, we are not going to say anything to family until he is better. That means my family too. Can't tell one side without the other. I can't help myself though, have to tell Paulsie & Phuc. They are stoked - "you lucky cow"!!
