Does anyone in Oz have electricity to even read this?

What the bleeding heck is going on down there? No power for days, trees falling down all over the place, people getting electrocuted - and you guys give stick to us about our weather?? I'll take our normal weather any day over the extremes Oz has experienced this year.

I get asked if certain things are normal in Australia, such as freak weather conditions and stuff. Or if it is normal to straddle a crocodile and poke it in the eye if it is munching on your wife. I don't know the answer. All I can say is "I guess. If your name's Norm and your wife's name is Wendy" (as it was in the case reported in the paper this morning).

Though I need to find alternative means of finding out the news from Australia. I have made a decision to boycott theage.com.au as I am sick to death of their spelling mistakes. If you are interested, it was 'loose' in the place of 'lose' that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Considering there are no alternative news sources, it's up to you all back home to keep me up with news and current affairs from Australia (no need for the American news that populates 50% of Australian news though).

On the anticipated news mentioned in the last post, don't worry about it. Things have taken a few steps back unfortunately. No sitting tight required.
