What I Hate - Version 1.0

I read today about the top ten things you hate about working in an office. I decided to compile my own:
  1. Loudmouths who shout across the office or who talk over other people in meetings.
  2. People who steal your ideas.
  3. Colleagues who stand either side of your desk and shout at each other.
  4. People who feel a need to be validated, so they 'cc' everyone in the organisation on every email they send.
  5. People who think that seniority is based on who has been there the longest.
  6. People with loud noisy annoying mobiles who go away from their desk and often leave their mobile behind. Same goes for desk phones with the ring volume set on a volume trying to break the sound barrier.
  7. People who put their phones on speakerphone at their desk in an open plan cubicle farm.
  8. People who don't bother flushing the toilet after themselves.
  9. People who complain about how much work they have on and spend half the day chatting on the phone or talking to people in the office.
  10. People who use their mobile in the toilet at work.
This doesn't relate to any organisation in particular. These little gems have jacked me off at every organisation I have worked at. Though obviously I have a thing about toilets and people speaking (in general). Though this time next year, I will be experiencing these little gems in an office far, far away in the northern hemisphere. Goody.

I tend to hate a lot of things, so I can imagine this won't be the last post that has a "what I hate..." flavour.

Another friend announced she was pregnant this week. What's in the water?? Congratulations Kasia & Kev - it's been a long time comin'.
